Job summary

Five Below seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician 2 (MT2) to maintain and repair automated material handling equipment in our distribution center. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, including conveyors, scanners, cameras, robotics, and related controls to maximize uptime.

The role requires experience with MHE, basic electrical/electronic knowledge, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Degree from a technical/ community college with focus in Mechanical or Electrical fields preferred.
• 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Electrical field.
• Experience with automated conveyor systems and MHE safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical aspects of MHE on site.
• Adjust scanners and cameras; troubleshoot conveyors and robotics.
• Read and understand electrical schematics; assist with PLC troubleshooting.
• Use CMMS to create and close Work Orders with data (labor hours, downtime, problem/cause/remedy, and parts used).

You will use preventive and predictive maintenance processes, and rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and quickly restore equipment to service to support the successful operation of the supply chain facility. You will work with other maintenance technicians to solve problems, validate quality of work for outside specialty contractors, work with building leaders to optimize material handling equipment, and meet aggressive timelines. You will collaborate with Maintenance Technician 3’s and Manager to perform Root Cause Analysis for equipment failures.
