POSITION SUMMARY –Perform or assist a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and manual tasks in Building Maintenance, Maintenance and Repair and operate power driven equipment. May act as a lead person on maintenance or repair jobs. Typically expected to solve most work problems independently and to make recommendations to supervisory personnel regarding those matters which involve policy decisions, technical questions, and unusual problems. WORK ENVIRONMENT —Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment
  2. Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
  3. Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
  4. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
  5. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  6. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust
  7. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and facilities
  8. Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
  9. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
  10. Detect and report faulty operations, defective material, and any unusual situations to supervision
  11. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with 6S procedures, rules, and regulations
  12. Perform building maintenance and general cleaning
  13. Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
  14. Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  1. Establish, maintain, and foster cooperative working relations with others
  2. Ability to utilize a variety of hand tools and equipment
  3. Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, JLG lifts
  4. Interpret shop drawings, sketches and work orders
  5. Ability to communicate and follow oral and written directions
  6. Ability to work independently with little direction
  7. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Graduate, GED, or HSDE preferred; Completion of a craft apprenticeship preferred

Experience: At least one year of related experience; Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred

Certificates & Licenses: HVAC and/or Electrical certificates or licenses would be an advantage; Must have a valid driver’s license; Must pass and maintain written and driving test for forklift certification

Other Requirements: Ability to be on call outside normal work hours
