MiTek Inc. seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician to ensure safe and efficient maintenance of machinery and production equipment.

The role requires proactive troubleshooting across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including electrical control wiring and PLC diagnostics. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, repairing equipment per diagrams and manufacturer specs, and installing or troubleshooting new machinery, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with over two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics; basic mathematical skills including measurement in multiple units.
  • Experience with electrical control wiring, PLC diagnostics, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Strong mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair stamping and plant equipment to ensure maximum uptime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance according to manufacturer specs or internal schedules.
  • Install and troubleshoot new equipment as directed.
  • Collaborate with stamping operations to improve productivity through equipment, material, or process improvements.
  • Maintain safety and compliance, including use of PPE and adherence to lock-out/tag-out procedures.

Job Description

Responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance and repairs of machinery and production equipment. This role requires a proactive individual with exceptional troubleshooting across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. A strong background in electrical control wiring, PLC-related diagnostics, and electrical troubleshooting is essential.

Maintenance specialists are responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery, in accordance with diagrams, electrical schematics, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications. Equipment includes motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, hydraulic pump systems, electrical control panels, high-speed stamping presses and other production machines. Work is performed using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments, and electrical diagnostic equipment.

THIS POSITION IS TEMPORARILY IN LARGO BUT WILL BE LOCATED IN ZEPHYRHILLS IN THE NEAR FUTURE. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN BOTH LOCATIONS UNTIL WE MOVE TO ZEPHYRHILLS.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with stamping operations to ensure plant equipment is operating when necessary, through diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair. Issues may be mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or electrical.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all plant equipment to ensure maximum productivity. Schedules may be directed by manufacturer's specifications or developed internally.
  • Work with stamping operations to focus on improving productivity through the use of improvements in machines, materials, or processes.
  • Install and troubleshoot any new equipment as directed.
  • Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes, but is not limited to the ability to work overtime as required, to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the work station ready for work at the start of the shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or GED with over two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills Effectively communicate with co-workers and management regarding work and safety issues.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Mathematical Skills Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Comprehend job training and safety instructions.
  • Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Certificates & Licenses Lock-Out, Tag-Out Certified; Crane Certified; Forklift Certified; Ladder and Sling Certified.
  • Other Skills and Abilities Read a tape measure, use micrometer, voltmeter, and calipers. Knowledge of blueprint reading. General knowledge of technology or electronics helpful.
