Job summary

Glaz-Tech Industries is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Salt Lake City, UT facility. The role focuses on maintaining and repairing production equipment, conveyors, and machinery to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate will read Electrical Drawings, have electrical experience, and be comfortable traveling as needed. A High School Diploma or equivalent and US work authorization are required; preferred background in the glass manufacturing sector with MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Troubleshooting skillset to locate source of problem through observation of mechanical devices; listening for indicators; and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Proven ability to understand, troubleshoot and adjust Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Servo drives.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting parts with calipers, micrometers, and measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, power tools and measuring devices.
• Maintains PM programs and work orders; tracks maintenance and parts.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories; places orders and tracks receipt.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations.
• Grounds keeping and building repair.

Glaz-Tech is looking to fill the Maintenance Technician position at our Salt Lake City, UT location. We are looking for a responsible, adaptable and self–driven individual looking to grow in the manufacturing industry. Apartment maintenance technicians need not apply.

Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour (depending on experience) with 90 Day Evaluation & Pay Rate Change

The job functions include:

• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintain programs, such as Maintenance PM program to track preventive maintenance, work order management and parts.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
• Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Responsible for grounds keeping and building repair.
