Job summary

Smith Industries is seeking a hands-on Industrial Maintenance Technician to support our fabrication operations in Midland, Texas. This role is critical to maintaining uptime across cranes, welding systems, and fabrication equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, and respond to breakdowns to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• Experience with overhead cranes, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Flexible hours including overtime or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fabrication equipment, overhead cranes, compressors, and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime; maintain CMMS records.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, and facility improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fabrication equipment, overhead cranes, compressors, and facility systems
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
• Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtimeMaintain work orders, inspections, and maintenance records (CMMS)
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, and facility improvements

What We Are Looking For

• Experience working on overhead cranes, welding equipment, and fabrication machinery (press brakes, CNC, rollers, etc.)
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work in a production-driven environment
