Job summary

Wisconsin Converting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment at our Green Bay facility. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical skills with bearings, gearboxes, belts, chains, rollers, and other systems.

The technician will perform preventative maintenance, assist with equipment installation, and support continuous improvement to maximize uptime in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Machining and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Experience with paper converting, flexographic printing, or similar equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical problems in production equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
  • Replace bearings, gearboxes, belts, chains, and other components as needed.
  • Assist with installation and relocation of production equipment.
  • Perform light machining, fabrication, and welding as required.
  • Operate safely and maintain orderly maintenance areas.

Industrial Maintenance Technician

Location: 1689 Morrow St. Green Bay, WI
Employment Type: Full-Time

Wisconsin Converting is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment in our Green Bay manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role for someone with strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience working with industrial machinery, including bearings, gearboxes, belts, chains, rollers, and other mechanical systems.

The Industrial Maintenance Technician plays an important role in keeping equipment running safely and reliably through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, fabrication, and continuous improvement. This position also performs light machine electrical work and assists with equipment installation and facility maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems and equipment breakdowns involving bearings, belts, chains, gears, alignment, and other mechanical systems.
  • Maintain and repair production equipment in accordance with established procedures and equipment requirements.
  • Replace and repair bearings, gearboxes, rollers, belts, chains, and other machine components as needed.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
  • Identify equipment issues and complete necessary repairs to support safe and reliable operation.
  • Assist with the installation, relocation, and modification of production equipment.
  • Perform machining, fabrication, welding, and other mechanical work as required.
  • Perform light machine electrical work, including 24V up to 480V.
  • Learn machine setup processes to develop a stronger understanding of production equipment.
  • Maintain necessary tools, parts, supplies, and maintenance work areas.
  • Accurately document maintenance, repairs, inspections, and other work performed.
  • Perform general facility and building maintenance as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to equipment reliability, safety, and production uptime.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
  • Follow all applicable company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and equipment operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, including bearings, belts, chains, gears, gearboxes, rollers, and alignment.
  • Ability to understand and follow equipment maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and equipment documentation.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and other maintenance equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail.
  • Basic computer skills for entering and maintaining maintenance records.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance or industrial mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Machining and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Experience with paper converting, flexographic printing, or similar manufacturing equipment preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, twist, reach, push, pull, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Lift, carry, and handle parts, tools, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Safely ascend and descend ladders as required.
  • Work in tight or confined work areas while inspecting, maintaining, and repairing equipment.
  • Use hand and power tools and perform repetitive hand, finger, wrist, and upper-body movements associated with equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Safely move throughout a manufacturing environment and work around moving machinery and industrial equipment.
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels.Regular exposure to moving machinery, industrial equipment, paper materials, inks, grease, dirt, and maintenance-related materials.
  • May be exposed to odors associated with printing inks, cleaning materials, lubricants, and other materials used in the manufacturing process.
  • Work may occasionally be performed on ladders, around equipment, or in tight work areas.
  • Required to follow established safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
