Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a permanent on-site role in Detroit, MI. The position focuses on mechanical and electrical maintenance, preventive upkeep, and rapid response to equipment issues to minimize downtime.

You will join a small team of technicians performing PMs, repairs, and replacements on pumps, conveyors, gears, motors, and related systems, with a mix of welding, plumbing, and PLC diagnostic tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience on production equipment.
• Hands-on experience with pumps maintenance and repair.
• Experience with conveyors and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Experience with relay and PLC troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily preventive maintenance (PMs) on equipment and update activities in the CMMS.
• Respond to breakdowns, prioritize reactive maintenance, and coordinate to restore production quickly.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components (pumps, conveyors, gears, motors, drive shafts).
• Perform welding, plumbing, lubrication tasks.
• Troubleshoot electrical components up to 480V.
• Read blueprints and electrical schematics to diagnose issues.
• Use relay and PLC troubleshooting to trace electrical issues.
