Job summary

Zoetis in Union City, CA is seeking a Level I maintenance mechanic to perform routine preventive maintenance, support rapid troubleshooting, and learn advanced procedures from senior staff.

You will follow SOPs/DOPs, practice GDP, and contribute to department goals while delivering responsive service to internal partners in production, quality, and engineering. The role requires hands-on repair skills and a willingness to learn new equipment and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification/degree preferred.
• Hands-on equipment repair or fabrication experience.
• Familiarity with automation, PLCs, and robotic systems.
• Basic Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel/Outlook/Word).
• Strong communication, written and oral skills.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics may be helpful.

Responsibilities

• Follow all site safety rules and procedures.
• Document PMs and repairs using GDP.
• Meet PM due dates and respond quickly to repair requests.
• Escalate major equipment issues to senior mechanics/engineering.
• Maintain clean, organized production and shop areas.
• Record equipment downtime and repairs to identify recurring issues.
• Collaborate with team to meet department/site objectives.
• Provide excellent service to internal customers.
