Job summary

PLASTPAC in Union, NJ is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair production equipment in our plastics manufacturing facility. You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and work to minimize downtime.

Qualified candidates have 3+ years in industrial maintenance, strong electrical troubleshooting, and the ability to read electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Good mechanical troubleshooting ability.
• Experience in manufacturing or production environments.
• Ability to work independently and identify root causes of failures.
• Reliable, hands-on and willing to handle routine maintenance and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues on production machinery
• Work with 480V 3-phase electrical systems
• Diagnose motors, VFDs, servos, sensors, relays, contactors, and control circuits
• Repair bearings, gearboxes, chains, belts, pumps, pneumatics, and hydraulics
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled equipment inspections
• Respond quickly to machine breakdowns and minimize downtime
• Read electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and improvements
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
