Job summary

Worthington Steel in Taylor, MI is seeking a Mechanic Maintenance Tech to troubleshoot and perform preventative and mechanical maintenance across the facility.

The role requires strong mechanical skills, knowledge of welding, and the ability to read mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints. Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and basic electrical work are desirable. This is an in-person, full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with industrial PLCs required; Allen Bradley is a strong plus.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and plumbing.
• Basic mechanical, welding and cutting skills.
• Should be capable of reading mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic prints.
• Minimal amount of electrical knowledge.
• Meter usage and ability to complete basic measurements.
• 1 year of plant experience.
• May require CPR and first aid training.
• Lockout/tagout, fall protection, PPE, confined spaced training.
• Complete knowledge of standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Complete mechanical repairs and make adjustments as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all machinery assigned and troubleshoot mechanical problems.
• Complete welding and fabrication tasks with little direction.
• Accountable for entering data into maintenance system timely and accurately.
• Perform basic electricity in order to work in the maintenance field safely.
