Job summary

San Antonio Water System is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic - Treatment to perform basic maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities across multiple sites. You will follow safety rules and work from O&M manuals and drawings.

The role requires completing preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, maintaining CMMS records, and using hand tools, lifting equipment, and basic electrical concepts. A valid Texas driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate.
• Two years’ experience performing repairs and maintenance in the mechanical trade.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and resolves standard water or wastewater facility machinery, piping and equipment problems.
• Performs predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance duties.
• Tracks and records information required in work order documents and enters into CMMS, and uses Microsoft Office.
• Performs standard level diagnostic tests to solve routine problems.
• Repairs plant machinery and equipment, using hoists, jacks, ladders, confined space equipment, PPE, welding equipment, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and other tools.
• Dismantles, constructs and assembles various components of facilities, industrial machinery or equipment.
• May operate a forklift, powered vertical lifting machinery, utility truck, crane, or other heavy equipment.
