Job description

Position Summary

The basic function of the Maintenance Technician II is to ensure routine maintenance procedures and assist in troubleshooting equipment issues promptly to minimize production downtime. The technician must complete all documentation accurately and adhere to good documentation practices, company policies, and safety regulations.

Position Type and Hours

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 10 am to 6:30 pm. Overtime is required as a condition of employment.

Work Environment

The employee will work indoors in a climate-controlled facility maintained between 36-38 degrees Fahrenheit. Conditions may include wet floors and equipment. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory, and employees must remain safety-conscious and aware of their surroundings.

  • Hand dexterity for handling objects of varying sizes
Responsibilities
  • Observe equipment operation closely to identify issues quickly and maintain accurate records of testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Detailing machines according to specifications.
  • Complete work orders promptly.
  • Identify and maintain inventory of critical and general parts for cutting equipment.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Assist with inventory management and system updates.
  • Ensure thorough documentation in SF360, following good practices.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and follow safety protocols.
  • Perform preventative checks and routine inspections proactively, identifying and addressing potential issues with minimal guidance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues using manufacturer manuals, specifications, and other resources to ensure proper maintenance and repair.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to resolve issues efficiently, with minimal assistance, based on fault reports from the production team.
  • Maintain IT skills for database management, logs, reporting, and communication across teams using SF360 and other software tools.
  • Manage time effectively to plan routine maintenance and respond to troubleshooting needs and unexpected equipment problems.
  • Capably repair electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, and PLC systems with guidance.
  • Perform basic MIG/TIG welding under supervision.
