Job summary

FCC Environmental Services in Dallas seeks a Plant Mechanic to oversee preventative maintenance and repairs of fixed equipment at the Waste Facility. You will diagnose mechanical problems, replace belts and motors, and keep parts stocked for safe, efficient operations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years in an industrial setting, hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting, PLC troubleshooting, welding with oxy/acet torch, valid driver's license, and willingness to work 10am–7pm

Qualifications

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems with manuals and charts.
• Perform repairs on recycling and C&D equipment to ensure safe operations.
• Capable of replacing belts, motors, cylinders and other parts.
• Maintain inventories; anticipate parts and order as needed.
• Able to weld and cut with torch; work independently with minimal supervision.

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Plant Maintenance Manager, the Plant Mechanic is responsible for the complete Plant preventative maintenance and scheduled repairs of the fixed equipment supported in the Material Recovery Facility Waste Facility

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Diagnose or troubleshoot mechanical problems using charts, technical manuals and expertise.
• Performs repairs and maintenance on recycling equipment and C&D equipment to maximize safe and productive operations.
• Replaces conveyor belts, electrical motors, hydraulic cylinders and other mechanical parts.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
• Use hand tools, power tools and electrical tools.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Able to cut with torch and weld.
• May repair and install plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Able to work on heights using Aerial Working Platform (boom lift, scissor lifts etc.)
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

Shift Hours: 10am- 7pm

Education

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D.

Experience And Competencies

• At least 3-5 years of industrial experience, training, or a combination
• Strong background on hydraulic and pneumatic system troubleshooting and repair
• PLC troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with practical, mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with OXY/Acet torch
• Proficient in all welding processes
• Prior experience working with conveyors.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• CMMS software experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license.
• Mechanical or trade school certificate.
• Must be willing to work any shift & some weekends
