Job summary

NTN Bearing Corporation in Columbus, Indiana, is seeking a maintenance mechanic to install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment, reading drawings and working with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

The role requires four years of industrial maintenance experience or a related degree, familiarity with hand and power tools, welding, and the ability to work overtime including every other weekend/holidays. Safety and teamwork are essential in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in the trade working with industrial automation or a degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or related field.
• Experience with electrical and electronic tools and gauges.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings (Some light Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic)
• Knowledge of hand tools, drill press, lathe and mill, electric drills, Welding (Mig required, Tig and Stick also preferred), pipe threading machine, acetylene torch, soldering iron, etc
• General manufacturing experience.
• Ability to work overtime as needed, must also be able to work every other weekend and holidays if required.
• Knowledge of Mechanical tools, combination squares, precision measuring equipment, electronic test equipment, along with various other tools common to this trade.
• Able to sit, kneel, squat or bend, for long lengths of times.
• Able to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.
• Lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly if necessary.
• Able to use common hand tools, and or power tools.
• Able to grasp and manipulate small objects such as screws, rivets, wire terminals, etc…

Responsibilities

• Receive work orders covering scheduled and emergency repair, installation and inspection work.
• Read and interpret drawings (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic).
• Repair equipment/components without drawings or instructions.
• Plan and perform work requiring mechanical knowledge and equipment operation.
• Adhere to safety regulations and report hazards.
