Job Description:

Schedule: 12 hour shift on a 3:2:2:3 schedule

Hours: 6:00 pm to 6:30 am

Work Location: 1 Quality Place, Buckner, KY 40010

Salary: $32.86 Per Hour (based on experience and other qualifications)

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Observe machines and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Inspect and measure parts for wear, misalignment, or other issues.
  • Adjust functional parts of machine devices and control instruments, including change-over to new sizes and running adjustments to support manufacturing needs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance checks and record data as assigned.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery as needed.
  • Replace worn or defective parts, dispose of defective parts, and organize shop tools.
  • Test machine operation after repairs and maintenance.
  • Follow GMPs, company policies, and procedures.
  • Review downtime reports and develop corrective plans with Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Perform duties safely to ensure product safety and quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Critical Skill Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic skills test required; knowledge of motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, programmable controllers, basic electrical skills; willingness to improve skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • 3-5 years maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience in packaging operations with glass and plastic containers preferred.
  • Ability to use hand tools and trade tools; good motor coordination.
  • Proven safety record handling equipment.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to make precise adjustments.
  • Team-oriented, able to work independently.
  • Validation required after initial training and every 6 months.
  • Ability to drive a forklift and obtain certification.
  • Dependable, reliable, mature handling equipment safely.
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform basic math calculations.
  • Flexibility to work on all lines, perform changeovers, and work mandatory overtime including weekends.
  • Manufacturing or distribution experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude.

Physical Demands:

  • Must perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
  • Stand, climb, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach, twist, turn, and stoop.
  • Walk or stand for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
  • Good hand/eye coordination, motor skills, 20/20 vision, normal hearing.

Environmental, Health, and Safety Requirements:

  • Wear required PPE as per policies or as directed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment following safety policies.
  • Report food safety, quality issues, or non-compliance.

Food Safety:

  • Report repairs or adjustments needed.
  • Comply with color-coded container policies.
  • Meet company, customer, and government standards.
  • Prevent nonconformities related to Food Safety and Quality.
  • Record problems related to Food Safety and Quality.
  • Control nonconforming product until issues are resolved.
  • In absence, a qualified employee will assume duties.
