Job Details:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for providing service to ensure efficient and effective operation, assisting in keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production.

Pay range: $20.60 - $32.50/hr (based on skills and experience). There is potential for quick progression within levels based on training completion and demonstrated skills.

Position Summary:

This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing equipment and company assets, while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Responsibilities and Knowledge:

• Troubleshoot and repair machine breakdowns; perform preventive maintenance and adjustments.
• Maintain accurate records on log sheets and in computer systems.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Manage parts used on the job.
• Complete work notifications, PM reviews, and work order evaluations.
• Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with team members.
• Work a variable schedule, including occasional holidays.
• Communicate regularly with various departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP, and SQF requirements.
• Participate in all rotation positions if applicable.
• Read and interpret work assignments, blueprints, equipment specifications, etc.
• Perform basic math functions using a calculator.
• Work with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:

• Wrist/hands flexibility and grip strength.
• Walking, bending, squatting, standing.
• Lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
• Work at heights up to 70 feet.
• Work in harsh environments temporarily.
• Pass safety tests within 30 days.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of mechanic/maintenance experience or graduation from an industrial maintenance program.

Note for Prior Tyson Workers: Rehire minimum wait of 90 days; limited to 3 employment periods.

Work Shift: 3rd Shift (U.S.A.)
