Job summary

Gerdau is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for our Huntington, Indiana facility. The role focuses on maintenance, installation and repair of plant equipment, tooling and facilities to keep operations running smoothly.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and solid knowledge of 480V 3-phase electrical diagnosis, hydraulics, and reading mechanical drawings. Training on PLCs and HMIs is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge in 480 3-phase electrical diagnosis and multimeter use.
• Moderate knowledge of industrial hydraulics.
• Ability to read mechanical, piping, and structural drawings.
• Experience with mechanical and water systems, rotating equipment.
• Understanding of industrial automation, PLCs and HMIs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, installation and repair on plant equipment and tooling.
• Fabricate, build and assemble new machinery.
• Take on work assignments with minimal supervision.
• Support operation of plant and office facilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must have knowledge in 480 3 phase electrical diagnosis and use of multimeter
• Must have moderate knowledge or experience with industrial hydraulics
• Must have moderate knowledge or experience reading and understanding mechanical piping and structural drawings
• Must have moderate knowledge or experience with mechanical systems, water systems and rotating equipment
• Must have moderate knowledge or experience understanding industrial automation, PLC ’s and HMI’s
