About the Position
We are looking for a skilled Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to ensure our manufacturing equipment operates at peak performance. This role involves a mix of hands‑on repair, proactive maintenance, and troubleshooting of both electrical and mechanical systems. While specific slitting equipment experience isn't necessary, we invite candidates with a background in maintaining CNC machines, presses, conveyors, automated systems, or other heavy industrial machinery to apply.
Core Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve mechanical or electrical issues affecting facility and production machinery.
- Monitor active equipment to detect unusual noises, vibrations, or signs of wear that could impact operational efficiency.
- Analyze equipment malfunctions to implement effective repair solutions.
- Take apart machinery to reach, fix, or swap out worn-out parts.
- Restore or install mechanical parts like gears, motors, drives, shafts, chains, and bearings.
- Execute fundamental electrical repairs and diagnostics on industrial hardware.
- Support the longevity of our assets by cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machinery during routine maintenance.
- Carry out planned preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.
- Contribute to the installation and enhancement of production equipment.
- Utilize precision tools like micrometers and calipers to ensure accurate repairs.
- Minimize production delays by addressing equipment failures with speed and precision.
- Keep detailed and accurate logs of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Promote a secure workplace by strictly adhering to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements.
- Report equipment status or quality issues clearly to production staff and management.
- Keep your workspace and the maintenance shop tidy and well-organized.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of professional experience in machine repair or industrial maintenance within a manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrate strong mechanical intuition and a practical approach to solving technical problems.
- Proven track record of maintaining and fixing industrial production machinery.
- Capability to accurately diagnose mechanical failures in complex equipment.
- Basic familiarity with troubleshooting industrial electrical systems.
- Experience working with pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, motors, conveyors, or similar systems is a major asset.
- Ability to interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Proficiency in operating power tools, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Fundamental skills in math, reading, and written communication.
- Ability to work autonomously while remaining a collaborative member of the maintenance and production teams.
- Prior experience with steel-processing or slitting equipment is welcomed but not mandatory.
