Job summary

Kelly Services in Romeoville, IL is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to keep high-speed packaging and facility systems running safely and efficiently. You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on food production lines and perform preventive maintenance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of maintenance in food/manufacturing, strong 3‑phase electrical skills, and the ability to read blueprints. High school diploma or GED required; training preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance experience in food, beverage, or manufacturing (USDA/FDA a plus).
• Strong skills in 3-phase electrical systems, wiring, motors, and control panels.
• Experience using hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Team player who communicates clearly and responds quickly to issues.
• High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred).

Responsibilities

• Keep our production and packaging equipment running safely and efficiently.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Handle setup, changeovers, and quick fixes for conveyors, baggers, scales, and barcode systems.
• Read electrical schematics and perform basic PLC/VFD troubleshooting.
• Stay ahead of issues with preventive maintenance and regular inspections.
• Jump into action when equipment breaks down — keeping downtime to a minimum.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant workspace that meets USDA and facility standards.

Pay: $33+/hr + shift differential

Schedule: 1st shift | Monday – Friday| 6:30pm – 3:00pm
