Job summary

Certified Meat Products Inc is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment, refrigeration systems, and facility infrastructure in a refrigerated food production environment.

You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, read schematics, calibrate controls, enforce LOTO, and document work in CMMS while supporting safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • EPA 608 Certification preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery and facility systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control-system issues.
  • Repair, replace, and install motors, bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, sensors, valves, and wiring.
  • Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot refrigeration systems, temperature controls, and associated components (EPA-compliant).
  • Calibrate instrumentation, sensors, and control devices to maintain operational accuracy.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Safely perform and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, food safety requirements, GMPs, and company safety policies.
  • Document maintenance activities in the CMMS.
  • Maintain spare-parts inventory.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and support continuous improvement.
  • Train operators and junior maintenance staff.

Job Focus: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment, refrigeration systems, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations. This role emphasizes preventive and predictive maintenance, regulatory compliance, accurate documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to minimize downtime and support operational performance goals.Shifts: Variable, depending on production and company needs.Overtime: As necessary.Description of Work Place:Work is performed in a refrigerated food-production and warehouse environment (approximately 35°F–45°F) containing conveyors, grinders, slicers, pallet-handling systems, and other industrial equipment.
