Job summary

Johns Manville is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in Waterville, OH to maintain and repair production and facilities equipment. The role requires troubleshooting, welding, plumbing, and fabrication tasks within a safety-focused environment.

You will perform preventive and predictive maintenance, document work in the CMMS, and collaborate with a team while supporting continuous operations at the Waterville, OH complex. A valid driver’s license and own tools are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Must be willing to work any shift (12a-8am; 8am-4pm; 4pm-12am; Swing; 12-hour rotating)
• Must have own tools and be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair production and facilities equipment to maximize uptime.
• Perform gas cutting, welding, plumbing, and fabrication of equipment.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Document work orders, parts, and time in the CMMS.

Johns Manville is currently hiring an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic at our Waterville, OH complex. We are searching for individuals who are dependable, responsible, and quality-minded who have a history of working safely in a manufacturing environment.

The Waterville, OH location manufactures direct melt products including wet chop glass fibers primarily for specialty applications, glass reinforcements for gypsum wall boards, direct dry chop for plastic reinforcements, single end roving for weavers and plastic reinforcements, and glass mat.

The base hourly rate for this position is $35.78.

Your Day to Day:

• Follow all Johns Manville safety procedures and policies, which includes but not limited to LOTO and confined space entry procedures.
• Troubleshooting issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency in the facility.
• Perform gas cutting, welding, plumbing, and fabrication of equipment.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance tasks as well as other precision-based maintenance methods.
• Document work orders, descriptions, parts, and time in computerized maintenance management system
• Comfortable handling daily responsibilities independently while regularly collaborating with team members.
• Capable of maintaining focus and quality while managing time-sensitive tasks.

What You Bring to The Team:

• Valid driver's License
• Technical training is preferred (including vocational) and will be considered when looking at overall experience.
• 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred
• Repair experience with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical components
• Welding experience and knowledge
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and drawings.
• Must be willing to work any shift (12a-8am; 8am-4pm; 4pm-12am; Swing Shift) OR 12-hour rotating shift.
• Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence legibly.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Working knowledge of SAP and other Computerized Maintenance Management System preferred.
• Must be able to occasionally lift 75 pounds.
• Must be able to work at heights.
• Must have own tools.
• Must successfully pass an aptitude test and hands-on skills assessment.
