Job summary

Matrix Service in Tucson is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic with 4+ years of refinery/mining experience to perform heavy equipment maintenance and safety-critical tasks. You will work under a Foreman, upholding core safety values and conducting precise, quality-controlled work.

You will rig, replace exchangers and pumps, dismantle piping, service vessels and gear, operate forklifts and other equipment, and ensure regulatory compliance while collaborating with teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years' maintenance experience in refinery/mining environment.
• Thorough understanding of industrial maintenance type work and expertise in basic hand tools.
• Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards and protocols.
• Able to assemble and disassemble refinery equipment.
• Able to proficiently run several types of equipment (forklifts, manlifts, etc.)
• Proficiency in mechanical systems and ability to read schematics/manuals.
• Must pass a proficiency test (70%+) or NCCER certification.
• Complete Safety, Process Safety Management and Site training; pass drug test and background check.
• Effective communication with team members and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of a Foreman with high skill in industrial maintenance operations.
• Support safety commitments and adhere to Core Values and Code of Conduct.
• Perform quality-controlled maintenance with precise accuracy.
• Prepare Job Hazard Analyses and serve as safety watch to ensure safety compliance.
• Rigging, signaling, and flagging for heavy-construction lifts.
• Remove/replace exchangers, vessels, pumps, and related equipment per procedures.
• Dismantle and reinstall piping systems per regulatory requirements.
• Service vessels, tower internals, fin fans, and coolers for reliable performance.
• Maintain machinery and equipment ensuring safe, efficient operation.
• Demolition activities and oxyfuel cutting per safety standards.
• Operate forklifts, extenda booms, and bundle trucks to support construction.
• Collaborate with supervision and other departments; fulfill additional duties as needed.
