Job summary

Motlow College is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Automation Associate Instructor (Evening) at the Ripley Campus to teach and evaluate students in the classroom and lab, Monday through Friday from 1:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical degree or diploma from an accredited institution.
• Minimum three (3) years’ industry experience; five (5) years preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance, electrical motor controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, instrumentation, and related manufacturing technologies.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students in all phases of the Industrial Maintenance Automation program.
• Monitor, grade, and evaluate student progress and maintain records in the college system.
• Maintain good relations with related industries and advisory committee.
• Collaborate with outside agencies and industry for work-based education experiences for students.
• Collaborate with K-12 partners to establish dual enrollment pathways.

Industrial Maintenance Automation Associate Instructor (Evening)

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is currently accepting applications for a full-time Industrial Maintenance Automation associate faculty position at our Ripley Campus. Hours are Monday through Friday, 1:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The successful candidate will provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom/lab, with significant emphasis on teaching and evaluating students in the classroom.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical degree or diploma from an accredited institution
• Must have at least three (3) years’ experience in industry, five (5) years preferred
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical maintenance, electrical motor controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, instrumentation, preventative maintenance, welding, machine tool, basic computer software, and hardware.
• Possess communication skills necessary to be an effective instructor
• Show evidence of good character, organizational skills, and a mature attitude
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions
• Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with students, the public, industry partners, and other faculty and staff
• Skilled in managing deadlines and working in a team-oriented environment
• Commitment to utilizing technology in teaching/learning experience and willingness to stay up to date in developing instructional technologies

• Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students' progress, maintain student records in the college's student records management software, maintain appropriate documentation, and submit timely reportsli>
• Maintain good public relations with related industries and an active program advisory committee
• Collaborate with outside agencies and industry to establish work-based education experiences for students
• Collaborate with K-12 education partners to establish dual enrollment to full-time enrollment pathways as needed
• Other duties include curriculum development, program accreditation, daily lesson planning, student recruitment and placement, follow-up of program graduates, participation in professional development activities, and student organizations
