Job summary

Engineering Resource Group is seeking a skilled Machine Builder to join our manufacturing operations in New Jersey. This role involves assembling and installing custom industrial machinery, building mechanical, electrical and pneumatic subassemblies to detailed engineering drawings, and ensuring accurate fit and function.

You will read mechanical prints and schematics, troubleshoot issues during build and installation, and provide feedback to improve machine performance and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of hands‑on experience as a Machine Builder, Mechanical Assembler or similar role.
• Experience assembling mechanical, electrical and pneumatic machine components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools used in machine assembly.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work from ladders of varying heights.

Responsibilities

• Permanent position for a Machine Builder to assemble and install custom industrial machinery for a manufacturing operation.
• Build mechanical, electrical and pneumatic subassemblies and complete machines to engineering drawings.
• Interpret mechanical prints and electrical/pneumatic schematics to hold dimensional accuracy and correct fit-up.
• Troubleshoot and correct mechanical, alignment and assembly issues during build and installation.
• Provide build feedback to engineering and design teams to improve machine function and manufacturability.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production machinery.
• Document assembly procedures and update technical manuals and build records.
• Responsible for compliance with plant safety regulations and company build standards.
