Job summary

Progressive Machine Company is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Mechanical Assembly Technician / Machine Builder to assemble, install, test, and complete custom industrial machinery. The role requires at least one year of hands-on experience in mechanical assembly or related fields and may involve basic electrical assembly.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, assembling frames and components, using hand and power tools, and assisting with machine setup and customer delivery.

Qualifications

• At least one year of hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, machine building, or related fields.
• Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings and BOMs.
• Experience with fasteners, fittings, hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot assembly issues and ensure proper alignment and fit.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble frames, brackets, guards, shafts, bearings, rollers, linkages, and related components.
• Read and follow drawings, assembly diagrams, and BOMs.
• Identify and correctly use fasteners, fittings, hardware, tools, and equipment.
• Verify orientation, alignment, fit, movement, and function before final tightening.
• Support machine setup, testing, and preparation for customer delivery.
