Job summary

Prysmian is seeking a skilled maintenance/operator for our Indiana plant on 2nd shift (3:00 pm–11:00 pm) with weekend overtime. You will repair and install heavy industrial equipment, follow standard work procedures, and ensure tooling quality within extrusion processes.

You will manage production tools, support die-related tasks, and collaborate with operators and process engineering to resolve issues. Safety and accurate measurement are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• PPE requirements and access to PPE.
• Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Clear written and oral communication.
• Demonstrated organizational management skills.
• Ability to operate arc weld and cutting torches.
• Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.
• Good attendance.
• Willingness to work overtime (>40 hours/week) and rotate/night shifts.
• Experience with measurement tools (micrometers, calipers).
• Ability to lift dies up to 50 lbs and work from a 20-ft man lift.

Responsibilities

• Control all production tools in the plant.
• Extrusion, drawing, stranding, CV, and KoldWeld dies and machine operation.
• Order extruder screens and breaker plates.
• Maintain inventory of dies in the computer.
• Safe operation of drill press, bench grinder, and die polishing machines.
• Maintain and control tooling using LeanSigma tools.
• Use visual techniques and color coding.
• Support 5S and standardization.
• Assist operators with setup and equipment issues.
• Interface with suppliers to order/replacement tooling.
• Gauge, machine, and re-mark tools as needed.
• Assist process engineers with extrusion issues.
• Assist in designing tooling.
