Job summary

Fuchs Lubricants Co. in Harvey, IL seeks a Technical Services Chemist to provide technical support for metalworking fluids and lubricants, coordinating with the Industrial Division and global teams.

The role emphasizes data reporting, troubleshooting, and quality collaboration. The candidate will work with LIMS, assist with equipment maintenance, and help ensure timely analyses while communicating findings to Sales, QC, and R&D teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of lab experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Advanced knowledge of wet chemistry.
• Ability to communicate clearly to diverse audiences.
• Industrial technical service or field support experience.
• Team-oriented and capable under pressure.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Utilization of LIMS with global colleagues.
• Generating and reporting technical data to support troubleshooting analyses & new business opportunities.
• Reviewing and commenting on trend analysis data generated by technicians for Fuchs customer systems.
• Supporting Sales in troubleshooting endeavors, new business opportunities, and quality concerns, including customer site visits when necessary.
• Assist with maintenance of laboratory equipment, interface with vendors on repairs and selection of new equipment, as needed.
• Maintaining acceptable turnaround times for routine and non-routine analyses.
• Interface with, and provide technical support to Quality Control, Quality Management, Research, Development & Innova­tion, Application Engineering, and Product Management.
• Responsible for writing and maintaining work instructions for all testing performed by the Technical Service team in accordance with the ISO quality system.
• Implement and prioritize 6S protocols to enhance laboratory organization, safety, and efficiency.
