Job summary

AIP is seeking a Laundry Worker to operate and oversee the facility laundry in Brownsville, TX. The role involves both independent work and assisting a Laundry Lead to ensure seamless laundry operations and compliance with standards.

Responsibilities include garment alterations, sewing, stocking supplies, machine operation, and adherence to safety protocols. Candidates must be 18+ and pass background checks; vaccination is required.

Qualifications

• Vaccination against COVID-19 prior to start date.
• Experience preferred in large-scale laundry/tailor operation.
• Ability to operate industrial laundry washing machines, dryers, and sewing machines.
• Ability to follow Standard Codes of Conduct when interacting with staff and detainees.
• Work areas may be hot and humid; exposure to chemicals and solvents possible.

Responsibilities

• Sizes, marks, alters, and repairs clothing, including elastic waistbands and pockets.
• Sews garments by needle and thread or sewing machine.
• Maintain stock of clothing, towels, undergarments, and bedding supplies.
• Monitor safety procedures for equipment and area.
• Operate industrial washing machines to wash linens and garments.
• Control water amount and temperature for washing and rinsing.
