Job summary

Unitex in Perth Amboy, NJ is seeking a skilled Class A Manufacturing Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair industrial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and press machines, with minimal supervision.

The position offers $32.00–$37.00 per hour, full-time scheduling five days a week, paid PTO, overtime potential, and extensive on-site training and advancement opportunities through our 100-year history. We provide uniforms and licensure incentives to grow your classification and pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 3 years as Class A Manufacturing Mechanic/Technician or similar.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
• Familiarity with safety protocols in industrial settings.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial laundry equipment (washers, dryers, press machines).
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues; minimize downtime.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate on upgrades, installations, and modifications.
• Assist in developing maintenance procedures and protocols to improve efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and parts inventory.
