Job summary

Colonial Group in Dayton, OH is seeking a production associate for our industrial laundry facility. You will participate in garment handling, sorting by routes, and processing shipments to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on schedule.

This role requires standing for long periods, exposure to warehouse conditions, and shift work that may include weekends. Emphasis on safety, teamwork, and maintaining quality, with competitive pay and a solid benefits package.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand training, written, and verbal instructions.
• Working knowledge of basic math.
• Good verbal and/or written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule.

Responsibilities

• Becomes familiar with the garment numbering system (GID) and shipping schedule board.
• Follows a shipping schedule and sorts garments into routes for specific sort areas.
• Removes garments from supply rails and places on conveyors or hooks by route.
• Hangs shirts by route first, then pants, before the next batch.
• Removes odd garments and places them on the correct space.
• Informs supervisor of quality, mechanical, or scheduling problems.
• Watches end-of-bar for falling garments and re-hangs as needed.
• Stops the line when jams occur and for breaks.
• Monitors garments for wrinkles and rejects those with ink stains, tears, holes, missing buttons, or loose tags.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment and follows best practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
