Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Pass CareerSource Testing requirement.
• At least two years of industrial or related experience.
• Ability to learn detailed laboratory testing procedures and follow written methods to produce repeatable results.
• Able to work rotating shifts including holidays and weekends.
• Pass drug screen, physical exam, and background check.
• Be self-directed with strong work ethic.
• Understand and adhere to all Safety Rules of the Laboratory and the Plant.
• Maintain good attendance.
• EOE/Vet/Disability.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples and perform laboratory tests following QA/QC requirements.
• Maintain quality control requirements for all laboratory tests performed.
• Work with a variety of instruments such as an analytical balance, pH meter, titrator, brightness meter, pulp extractor, sheet former, oven, ash furnace, centrifuge, microscope, and others.
• Directly communicate with Pulp Plant operators to determine proper timing of sampling.
• Record data on worksheets and in the computer system, ensuring accuracy.
• Stock chemicals and lab supplies; assist with packaging and shipping items.
• Perform general department housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
