Job summary

North American Millwright Services, Inc. in Sparrows Point, Maryland, is seeking an experienced Industrial Journeyman Plumber to join our team and support piping, machinery, and utility installations in industrial settings.

You will read blueprints, perform high‑pressure line work, and maintain systems while mentoring apprentices and ensuring OSHA compliance and safety on site. A valid Journeyman license, 3 years of relevant experience, and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Active Journeyman Plumber license is required
• 3 years of industrial or large commercial journeyman experience
• Backflow prevention certification a plus
• Strong understanding of industrial plumbing systems, including pressurized systems and chemical waste management
• Familiar with Victaulic and ProPress piping systems
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Install, modify and repair high-pressure steam, water, gas, air, chemical, and sewage lines in industrial facilities
• Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan pipe layouts and installations
• Perform preventative maintenance on plumbing components and diagnose complex system failures
• Cut, braze, and solder pipes (steel, copper, PVC) to project specs
• Ensure all work meets OSHA regulations, local codes and safety standards
• Mentor apprentices and ensure quality workmanship and safety on job sites
• Maintain records of time, materials and tasks performed

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Industrial Journeyman Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial, manufacturing, or heavy commercial environments, performing high-level installation and repair of piping systems, machinery, and utilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Installs, modifies and repairs high-pressure steam, water, gas, air, chemical, and sewage lines in industrial facilities
• Reads, understands, and works from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan pipe layouts and installations
• Performs preventative maintenance on industrial plumbing components (valve, pumps, regulators) and diagnose complex system failures
• Cuts, threads, brazes, and solders, pipes (steel, copper, PVC) according to project specs
• Ensures all work meets OSHA regulations, local building codes, and company safety standards
• Safety operates machinery such as pipe threaders, welders, grinders, and hydraulic tools
• Guides and mentors apprentices, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols on job sites
• Maintains accurate records of time, materials, and tasks performed
• Takes swift action to stop any imminent danger situations you may encounter
• Promptly reports all accidents and near misses, including minor first aid and property damages prior to end of shift
• Conducts daily workplace exams; identifies and promptly resolves potential hazards or immediately barricades area or equipment and contacts NAMS and/or the customer’s safety team to resolve

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Active state-issued Journeyman Plumber License
• 3 years of relevant experience as a journeyman in industrial or large commercial setting

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently required to walk, sit, stand, balance, stoop, bend, push, pull, lift, reach, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb stairs/ladders and use of hands
• Prolonged periods standing and stretching to install and repair pipes
• Must have vision, hearing, and ability to talk
• Ability to work in confined spaces, work at heights, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Exposure to noisy, hot, or cold temperatures
• Comfortable working in industrial environments, including food processing plants, manufacturing plants, production facilities and/or outdoor industrial sites
• May require overtime, weekends or emergency on-call shifts
