Job summary

Kendall Howard is looking for an IoT Systems Engineer to build, deploy, and maintain edge-to-cloud infrastructure powering our industrial telemetry platform. You will manage messaging infrastructure, networking, and cloud connectivity to securely move telemetry from customer equipment into cloud storage and analytics.

Collaborating with Controls and Data Engineering teams, you will influence architecture, standards, and scalability while delivering reliable industrial IoT solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Two or more years of experience in Industrial IoT and edge-to-cloud integration.
• Hands-on experience deploying MQTT or comparable publish/subscribe systems in production.
• Experience deploying cloud-based services for messaging and containerized workloads.
• Knowledge of industrial networking, secure communications, and OT/IT segmentation.
• Ability to work hands-on in manufacturing environments.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain MQTT brokers or similar pub/sub infrastructure receiving telemetry.
• Implement and support industrial protocols like MQTT and OPC-UA for secure telemetry.
• Design and maintain secure edge-to-cloud connectivity across OT/IT boundaries.
• Collaborate with controls engineers to define telemetry payloads, data contracts, and TLS management.
• Support testing, validation, and field commissioning related to telemetry delivery.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
