Job summary

W. R. Grace & Co. is seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician at the Curtis Bay plant in Baltimore, MD.

The role covers maintaining, troubleshooting, installing, testing, and repairing low to high voltage electrical and instrumentation systems. Knowledge of PLCs, flow meters, level transmitters, and control valves is valued. The technician will work night shifts as needed, follow NFPA codes, and support safety and training programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years related experience in industrial setting.
• Successful completion of testing to meet First Class Instrumentation & Electrician Technician classification.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 86 preferred.
• Experience with low to high voltage electrical distribution systems and motor control equipment.
• Able to read electrical schematics and loop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates safe work behaviors and complies with all safety rules and procedures.
• Maintains timely compliance on safety, health, environmental, and training initiatives.
• Communicates effectively with co-workers, supervisors, other crafts, contractors, production groups, vendors, and OEM suppliers.
• Disconnects, reconnects, installs, removes, troubleshoots, and maintains motor control, process control, burner control, and electrical distribution devices and instrumentation systems.
• Works with low, medium, and high voltage electrical distribution systems, including transformers, switchgear, fuses, breakers, and cabling.
• Reads and interprets drawings such as electrical schematics, conduit schedules, equipment drawings, control drawings, loop sheets, P&IDs.
• Performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition.
• Configures, sets up, and calibrates various pieces of equipment and instrumentation.
• Completes training requirements and regulatory testing; attends safety meetings.
• Assists in the work of other maintenance groups as assigned.
• Participates in training initiatives to maintain and improve skills.
• Fosters a team environment to ensure efficiency and productivity.
