Environmental Data Validation Inc. (EDV, Inc.) seeks a field professional to perform asbestos, lead-based paint surveys and IAQ investigations across regional sites. You will support remediation projects, collect field data, and ensure chain-of-custody for analytical testing.

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry preferred; 1+ year experience in environmental sampling under CLP/SW-846; willingness to travel; certifications such as AHERA or LBP a plus; USA laboratory experience required.

  • Bachelor of Science degree, Chemistry preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience in asbestos, lead-based paint surveys or IAQ investigations.
  • Willingness to travel regionally for short periods.
  • AHERA asbestos certifications a plus; LBP inspector/monitor certifications a plus; NIOSH 582 course a plus.
  • Must have at least 1–5 years experience analyzing environmental samples under CLP or SW-846 methods.
  • Experience with USEPA guidelines (DOD/DOE) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct asbestos, lead-based paint and other hazardous material surveys.
  • Provide abatement monitoring for asbestos and lead-based paint projects.
  • Conduct mold and IAQ investigations and oversee remediation.
  • Perform soil/groundwater sampling/monitoring for assessment/remediation.
  • Collect field notes and photos to support reports; prepare chain-of-custody for testing.
  • Travel locally and regionally to project sites; work off-hours/weekends as needed.
  • Adhere to EDV health and safety policies.

Job description

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Conduct asbestos, lead-based paint and other hazardous material survey

Provide asbestos and lead-based paint abatement monitoring

Conduct mold and indoor air quality investigations and oversee remediation projects

Conduct industrial hygiene surveys, e.g. exposure assessments, noise surveys

Perform soil/groundwater sampling/monitoring for subsurface assessment/remediation projects

Collect detailed field notes and photographs to assist project managers with completing reports

Prepare chain of custody for analytical testing, recording survey data in approved forms

Travel locally and regionally to project sites

Work off-hours and weekends periodically when required

Abide by EDV’s health and safety policies and procedures

Required:
  • A.S. or B.S degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety, public health or related field will be considered
  • 1+ years of specific experience in at least one of the following disciplines: asbestos and lead-based paint surveys and project monitoring, microbial and IAQ investigations,industrial hygiene surveys, soil/groundwater sampling/monitoring or related field. EDV will cross-train the successful candidate in the other service areas.
  • Willingness to travel regionally for short periods of time.
  • AHERA asbestos certifications is a plus
  • LBP inspector/monitor certifications is a plus
  • NIOSH 582 course completion is a plus

Candidate must exhibit attention to detail, and able to work under periodic time constraints

Have the ability to perform asbestos, lead-based paint and other hazardous material surveys, abatement project monitoring, microbial and indoor air quality investigations,industrial hygiene surveys and soil/groundwater sampling/monitoring for assessment/remediation projects.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet organization and project objectives.

Able to be technically adept, flexible, and forward thinking

Required:

  • Must have at least 1yr experience analyzing environmental samples under the USEPA CLP program or SW-846 Methods
  • Must have USA laboratory experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written/verbal communication and analytical thinking
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines concurrently
Preferred:
  • At least 1-year prior environmental data validation experience to include organics and inorganics
  • Experience with USEPA & DOD/DOE guidelines
Required:
  • Bachelor of Science degree. Chemistry preferred
  • Must have at least 3yrs experience analyzing environmental samples under the CLP program or SW-846 Methods
  • Must have USA laboratory experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written/verbal communication and analytical thinking
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines concurrently
Preferred:
  • At least 3 years prior environmental data validation experience to include dioxins/furans, and or PCB- congeners
  • Experience with USEPA & DOD/DOE guidelines
Required:
