Job summary

Aalo Atomics is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to lead the IH program across our Idaho Falls site and supported facilities. You will conduct exposure assessments, monitoring, and control selection under 10 CFR 851 and 29 CFR 1910, helping keep workers safe in high-hazard environments.

This role requires baseline surveys, respirator and hearing conservation program administration, records management, and collaboration with medical staff, DOE surveys, and design reviews for new facilities.

Qualifications

• BS in industrial hygiene or related field.
• Min five years IH practice with exposure assessment.
• Knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 Subpart Z/134/95 and ACGIH TLVs.
• Willing to travel ~25% and obtain DOE site access.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain IH and exposure assessment program per 10 CFR 851 Appendix A.
• Perform baseline surveys, define exposure groups, resurvey schedule.
• Conduct personal and area monitoring for chemical, physical, and biological agents, including welding fumes and noise.
• Make exposure determinations, approve data, and notify employees as required.
• Administer respiratory protection program per 29 CFR 1910.134 and hearing conservation per 29 CFR 1910.95.
• Evaluate ventilation and engineering controls using the hierarchy in 10 CFR 851.22.
• Participate in design reviews to anticipate and control hazards.
• Coordinate with occupational medicine on medical surveillance triggers and provide exposure data.
• Maintain IH database and exposure records per 29 CFR 1910.1020 and 10 CFR 851.26.
• Develop and deliver IH training content and support hazard analysis for work planning.
• Support DOE, landlord, and insurance carrier surveys and assessments.
