Job summary

Novant Health seeks an Industrial Hygienist to design and implement an industrial hygiene program focusing on infection prevention during construction. You will oversee Infection Prevention involvement in projects and coordinate Infection Preventionists within the ICRA framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred.
• Minimum four years’ experience in industrial hygiene; construction experience required.
• American Board of Industrial Hygiene Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Infection Prevention involvement in construction projects; coordinate Infection Preventionists in relation to ICRA process.
• Collaborate with Plant Engineering and Construction to implement control/remedial measures for hazardous conditions, especially infectious agents.
• Collect samples of dust, gases, vapors and other potentially infectious/toxic materials for analysis.
• Investigate ventilation adequacy and related conditions affecting health in construction projects.
• Prepare reports with observations, contaminant analysis and recommendations for hazard control.
• Develop and participate in education meetings to instruct teams and contractors on occupational health and infection prevention.
• Evaluate facilities to ensure environmental regulatory compliance and sanitary maintenance with focus on construction.
