We are seeking an experienced and motivated Certified Industrial Hygienist to join our Health & Safety Programs group based in Houston, TX.

Essential Job Duties:
  1. Develop and implement comprehensive industrial hygiene programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry best practices.
  2. Oversee exposure assessment processes, including characterization, risk assessment, monitoring, data analysis, and documentation.
  3. Manage exposure control systems, evaluating materials, process changes, substitution, engineering controls, PPE, and respiratory protection.
  4. Develop and oversee indoor air quality and industrial hygiene assessments.
  5. Create industrial hygiene sampling programs and exposure profiles.
  6. Oversee corporate IH programs covering ventilation, noise, radiation, hazardous substances, mercury, VOCs, dust, ergonomics, silica, and safety management systems.
  7. Audit and monitor corrective action programs, ensuring full implementation and performance.
  8. Manage IH record systems documenting exposure monitoring results.
  9. Coordinate SDS updates and reviews, ensuring systems for chemical storage, handling, and disposal are in place.
  10. Engage with clients, contractors, and regulators effectively.
  11. Conduct site evaluations to identify potential health hazards.
  12. Analyze data from monitoring activities and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
  13. Provide training on industrial hygiene topics such as hazard communication, respiratory protection, and ergonomics.
  14. Stay current with regulations and industry trends, recommending program updates.
  15. Investigate incidents related to occupational illnesses or exposures and implement corrective actions.
  16. Coordinate with other CIHs and CSPs across the organization.
  17. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  18. Pass pre-employment background checks, drug screens, physicals, and motor vehicle records checks.
Skills:
  • Experience with moisture intrusion/mapping and microbial assessments.
  • Proficiency in personal air contaminant monitoring and advanced exposure assessments.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive worksite evaluations and specialized tests.
  • Development and implementation of IH programs and policies.
Qualifications:
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) accreditation required and must be maintained.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial hygiene, safety, and hazardous safety-sensitive industries, with at least 5 years of practical experience in an industrial setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to manage various schedules and emergency response situations.
  • Creative, consultative thinker with strong customer interaction skills.
  • Physical ability to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders/stairs, and perform walking, bending, and stooping.
  • Ability to wear PPE, including respirators.
  • Preferred but not required: CHMM, CSP, or CMC licenses.
