Position Overview

We are seeking an Industrial Hygienist (IH) to join our growing team. This position is flexible and may be tailored to entry-level or mid-level professionals depending on the candidate’s experience and credentials. The IH will support environmental health and safety projects with a strong focus on industrial hygiene assessments, hazardous materials oversight, and indoor environmental quality evaluations. This role involves both fieldwork and project support, offering opportunities to contribute to meaningful environmental and occupational health initiatives.

Responsibilities
In this role, your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting asbestos and lead-based paint inspections and sampling
  • Performing asbestos, lead, and mold air monitoring and providing project oversight during abatement activities
  • Managing and overseeing hazardous material abatement projects
  • Performing workplace exposure assessments for air contaminants and noise
  • Investigating indoor air quality (IAQ), mold, and moisture issues, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning
  • Providing safety support at client sites, including inspections, program development, and training
  • Supporting the development of chemical exposure, respiratory protection, and hearing conservation programs

Experience and Requirements
We are open to a range of experience levels. Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • 0 to 5+ years of professional experience in industrial hygiene, environmental science, or related field
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to work in diverse environments (industrial sites, outdoors, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Willingness to travel locally and regionally as needed
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Interest in achieving professional certifications (e.g., CIH, CSP, CHMM) and growing into a project management role

Education and Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • The following certifications are required:
  • PA Department of Labor & Industry (PADOLI) Licensed Asbestos Inspector
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Training
  • Familiarity with OSHA 1910 and 1926 regulations
  • Ability to deliver training on OSHA-related safety topics

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods in field environments
  • Capable of working in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and confined spaces
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for site work
  • Ability to carry monitoring and sampling equipment as needed
