Job summary

Apex Companies seeks an Industrial Hygiene & EHS Program Lead to direct a diverse IH portfolio across the Mid-Atlantic region. You will write and review technical reports, budgets, and proposals, hire and lead subcontractors, and mentor scientific staff to ensure high-quality work.

You’ll actively pursue new business opportunities, guide a mid-sized IH team, and promote safe project execution. Growth, cross-training, and strong client outcomes are central to this role.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Environmental Science/Engineering; Masters preferred.
• 10+ years in environmental consulting.
• 5–10 years as an Industrial Hygiene lead practitioner in the Mid-Atlantic region.
• Certified Industrial Hygienist preferred, not required.
• Ability to write proposals, budgets and technical reports.
• Ability to mentor junior staff.
• Proficiency with MS Office; strong communication and safety record.

Your Responsibilities as the Industrial Hygiene & EHS Program Lead:

• Handle a diverse portfolio of asbestos, lead, mold and other Industrial Hygiene consulting projects.

What we’re looking for:

• BA/BS in Environmental Science/Engineering or other related field; Masters Degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience working within the environmental consulting industry.
• 5-10 years as an Industrial Hygiene lead practitioner with experience managing multiple projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
• Certified Industrial Hygienist preferred, but not required.
• Ability to write and review proposals, budgets and technical reports.
• Ability to mentor and train junior staff.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Excellent technical communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent safety record and understanding of safe work practices.
