Apex Companies offers a remote opportunity for an experienced Industrial Hygienist in the Atlanta area with the flexibility to work remotely across the Southeast while supporting field projects. The role focuses on IH, asbestos, lead sampling, indoor air quality, and environmental health for a growing national firm.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of IH experience, relevant certifications, and strong data analysis, reporting, and safety mindset.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science/Engineering or related field; Master’s degree a plus.
• 5+ years of technical experience required.
• Experience with industrial hygiene, asbestos, and lead sampling.
• Asbestos, lead and/or lead inspector certifications preferred.
• HAZWOPER 40 Hour Trained with Current 8-hour Refresher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Indoor Air Quality and Post-Remediation Verification Assessments for Water Intrusion/Mold, Moisture Mapping, Air Sampling, data interpretation, and Draft Technical Reports.
• Conduct Asbestos and Lead Based Paint Surveys and Abatement/Remediation Oversight and Air Sampling.
• Conduct Industrial Hygiene Sampling and Monitoring including Exposure Assessments and Air Monitoring.
• Ensure safe work practices on all project work and support career growth.

Remote opportunity for experienced Industrial Hygienists in the Atlanta area!

This role offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the greater Atlanta region while supporting field projects throughout the Southeast. You'll enjoy the autonomy of a remote position combined with the opportunity to work on a wide variety of industrial hygiene, asbestos, lead, indoor air quality, and environmental health projects for a growing national firm.

Your Responsibilities As An Industrial Hygienist

• Conduct Indoor Air Quality and Post-Remediation Verification Assessments associated with:
  • Water Intrusion/Mold
  • Moisture Mapping
  • Air Sampling for Mold and IAQ Parameters
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Preparation of Scope of Work and Draft Technical Reports
• Conduct Asbestos and Lead Based Paint Surveys and Abatement and Remediation Oversight/Air Sampling
• Conduct Industrial Hygiene Sampling and Monitoring
  • Industrial Hygiene Assessments of Chemical and Noise Exposures
  • Air Monitoring
  • Sound Level Surveys
  • Observe and Recommend Engineering and Administrative Controls to Limit Employee Exposures.
  • Compare employee exposures to noise and air contamination against regulatory limits from client, OSHA, or ACGIH.
  • Preparation of Scope of Works and Draft Technical Reports.
• Ensure safe work practices on all project work.
• Actively develop your own career growth.

What We're Looking For

• BA/BS in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science/Engineering or other related field;
• Master’s degree a plus.
• 5+ years of technical experience required.
• Experience working with industrial hygiene, asbestos, and lead sampling.
• Asbestos, lead and/or lead inspector certifications preferred.
• Additional EHS certifications/licensures or interest in pursuing additional qualifications highly desired.
• Knowledge and understanding of asbestos OSHA, EPA, and state regulations.
• Ability to work in a respirator and protective clothing.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Strong research and analytical skills to identify, collect, organize, and document information and data.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
• Good safety record and understanding of safe work practices.
• Valid driver's license, good driving history and reliable transportation are required.
• HAZWOPER 40 Hour Trained with Current 8-hour Refresher preferred.
• 70-80% fieldwork/travel required.
