Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Industrial Hygiene professional to support field assessments, air/noise monitoring, and asbestos-related surveys in the New York City area. You will prepare client-ready reports using Word, assist with regulatory training, and collaborate with project teams to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires 2–5 years in IH/EHS, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel locally. NYSDOL asbestos inspector and NYC DEP asbestos investigator certificates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in industrial hygiene or related field.
• Hands-on field assessments, sampling, monitoring, inspections, or building surveys.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience preparing technical reports in Word.
• Basic proficiency in Excel.
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally.
• Willingness to support evening/weekend project needs.
• Current NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector Certificate preferred.
• Current NYC DEP Asbestos Investigator Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support industrial hygiene projects including air and noise monitoring.
• Assist with asbestos surveys under licensed team members.
• Document qualifying asbestos building-survey experience.
• Conduct field inspections with PPE, lockout/tagout, confined spaces, and other hazards.
• Support hazard communication and chemical safety programs.
• Collect, interpret, and organize field data.
• Prepare client-ready technical reports using Word.
• Deliver in-person safety and regulatory training when needed.
• Collaborate with internal project teams and clients to meet deadlines.
• Travel to client sites across the NYC metro area.
• Support occasional evening or weekend projects including pre-construction activities.
• Work independently in the field and as part of a project team.
