Job summary

Yorke Engineering, LLC is seeking an Industrial Hygiene and Safety Specialist to join our California team. The role supports design and evaluation of safety, health, and environmental programs across multiple Southern California offices, including Los Angeles, Long Beach, Diamond Bar, Riverside, San Juan Capistrano, and San Diego.

This is a full-time on-site position with potential field work. The ideal candidate has 4–10 years in IH, CSP or EH&S, with strong regulatory knowledge, monitoring

Qualifications

• 4-10 years of experience as an Industrial Hygienist, CSP, or EH&S professional, preferably in consulting
• Analyzes and ensures regulatory compliance for health, safety, and environmental policies across local, state and federal levels
• Knowledge of monitoring methods for air, dust, odor and noise and related sampling procedures
• Experience developing and supporting an IH/EH&S management system for client sites

Responsibilities

• Reviewing, evaluating, and designing policies to ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
• Communicating analyses with clients, peers, and regulatory agencies; supporting program development
• Travel to client sites and provide field support as required

We are looking for a sharp Industrial Hygiene and Safety Specialist to join our team in any of our Southern CA offices (Los Angeles, Long Beach, Diamond Bar, Riverside, San Juan Capistrano, or San Diego). Position Summary

The Industrial Hygiene and Safety Specialist reviews, evaluates, and analyzes work environments and is responsible for designing policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulations on safety, health, and the environment. They will also design programs to prevent disease or injury to workers and damage to the environment. This candidate will be analyzing regulatory required compliance and technical issues, and communicating those analyses with clients, peers, and with regulatory agencies; performs other duties as required or assigned.

This is an experienced level position working under general supervision.

The candidate qualifications we are looking for include:

• 4-10 years of experience as an Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional, or Environmental Health and Safety Professional, preferably in a consulting environment
• Analyzes and ensures regulatory compliance as they relate to the health, safety, and environmental policies for our clients, this includes local, state and federal level regulations
• Ability to perform safety, environmental, or occupational health inspections for compliance with established policies to identify potential new hazards
• Familiarity with various monitoring and sampling methods, procedures, and techniques used in collecting and testing related to air, dust, odor, and noise monitoring
• Experience in developing and supporting an efficient Industrial Hygiene and Safety Management System on behalf of clients’ sites
• Experience with different facets of IH and EH&S services such as:
• Personal Protective Equipment
• OSHA Regulations
• ISO 140001
• Industrial Hygiene Monitoring and Reporting
• Ergonomics Evaluations and Reporting
• Experience in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
• Illness and Injury Prevention Plans (IIPP)
• Training on new regulations
• Extensive experience with process, manufacturing, and/or other industrial facilities
• Ability to manage multiple clients at any given time without losing focus of quality
• Experience in dealing with regulatory agencies

Job Requirements:

• B.S. degree or higher in Public Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry or any other relevant degree from an accredited college/university (minimum GPA of 3.0)
• Well developed technical expertise in IH and Health & Safety rules and regulations
• Capable of working independently in the field
• Field experience and ability to travel to client sites
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Experience in conflict resolution and crisis management
• Advanced computer applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
• Ability to work successfully in team orientated environments
• CSP, Lead Assessor, CAC, and/or CIH certification are highly desired
