Job summary

Newrest is seeking an HVAC Technician to maintain and repair refrigeration, glycol chilling, and building HVAC systems for uninterrupted airline catering operations. You will service walk-in freezers, evaporators, glycol chillers, and rooftop units, acting as the primary responder for HVAC issues and coordinating with maintenance teams and contractors.

Focus is on preventive maintenance, accurate CMMS documentation, and adherence to EPA 608, OSHA, and food-safety standards to minimize downtime

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Universal certification required to handle refrigerants.
• 3–5 years of commercial/industrial HVAC/R experience, with ≥2 years on refrigeration.
• Experience with walk-in freezers, evaporators, glycol systems and RTUs.
• Proficient in reading refrigeration schematics, electrical diagrams and service manuals.
• OSHA safety training and relevant certifications are expected.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair evaporators, walk-in freezers, coolers and blast chillers.
• Maintain glycol chilling systems and ensure proper glycol concentration.
• Service rooftop units and make‑up air/exhaust systems.
• Diagnose failures using gauges, readings and meters.
• Locate and repair refrigerant leaks and manage charges.
• Respond to temperature alarms and on‑call outages with QA coordination.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams and contractors; supervise when needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Ensure EPA 608, LOTO and NFPA 70E compliance.
• Maintain safety and food safety standards in line with HACCP/GMP.
