Job summary

BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a refrigeration/ HVAC technician to inspect, maintain, repair, perform preventive maintenance, and calibrate complex systems including NH3 refrigeration.

The role requires hands-on experience with diagnostic equipment and PLC software, and the ability to use laptops and Microsoft Office for troubleshooting. The candidate will work on-site with a focus on safe, efficient operation and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as refrigeration technician/mechanic or related fields.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration, instrumentation and electrical theory.
  • Ability to troubleshoot using test equipment and PLC software.
  • Proficient with laptops and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, repair, PM and calibrate HVAC, chiller, NH3 refrigeration systems.
  • Troubleshoot refrigeration systems using test equipment.
  • Adjust systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Use a laptop with PLC software to diagnose electronic and instrumentation issues.
  • Maintain proficiency with desktop computers and Microsoft Office.

Job Description

Must be able to inspect, maintain, repair, PM and calibrate in accordance with accepted standards the following: Heating Vent Air Conditioning Systems ( HVAC ), Chiller Systems, NH3 Refrigeration Systems, Refrigeration Appliances, and "Systems" (includes the system or unit and all associated controls, such as gauges, flow switches, recorders, solenoids, valves, etc.). Must have knowledge of refrigeration, instrumentation and electrical theory in order to check the performance of refrigeration systems by means of test equipment. Must be able to adjust refrigeration systems in order to obtain efficient and safe operation. Must have previous experience as a refrigeration technician/mechanic, or other related fields (commercial/industrial). Must have knowledge of diagnostic and repair equipment. Must be able to use laptop computers and associated PLC software to troubleshoot electronic and instrumentation problems. You must have desktop computer skills and be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office. the RSCA and RSCB are not training classification.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $35 to $40 per hour (or $72,800 to $83,200 annually). Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as shift differentials or the terms outlined in an applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will ultimately determine your wages.
