Job summary

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, seeks an Industrial HVAC Engineer for the Food & Beverage Group. The role requires on-site work at food processing facilities, defining sanitary requirements, and optimizing moisture control with energy reduction strategies.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and 4+ years of industrial HVAC experience, plus on-site system integration and air-flow diagram development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college.
• At least four years of relevant industrial HVAC engineering experience.
• On-site experience integrating equipment into existing systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct job-site surveys of food and beverage plant HVAC systems.
• Define sanitary requirements for food production spaces.
• Determine equipment technology for moisture control and energy reduction.
• Produce heat load calculations for production, downtime, and cleanup modes.
• Create psychrometric calculations and charts for process conditions.
• Develop instrument points list and sequence of operations.
• Prepare project documentation: drawings, air flow diagrams, specifications, scope of work.
• Coordinate specifications with outside suppliers and subcontractors.
• Frequent travel (30-40%) will be required.
