Job summary

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking an Industrial HVAC Engineer for the Food & Beverage Group in a full-time role in the United States. The candidate will conduct job-site surveys, define sanitary requirements, and determine equipment strategies for moisture control and energy reduction.

Responsibilities include heat load calculations, psychrometric charts, and coordinating with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college.
• At least four years of relevant industrial HVAC engineering experience.
• On-site experience integrating equipment into existing systems.
• Experience with sanitary air handling equipment and food plants.
• PE license preferred.
• Experience running load calculations.

Responsibilities

• Produce heat load calculations for production, downtime, and cleanup modes.
• Create psychrometric calculations and charts for food process area conditions.
• Develop instrument points list and sequence of operation.
• Develop project documentation including drawings, air flow diagrams, equipment schedules, details, specifications, scope of work.
• Coordinate specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
• Travel 30-40% is required.

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth. As a result, we have a full-time position available for an Industrial HVAC Engineer in the Food & Beverage Group.

Responsibilities

• Conducting job-site surveys of food and beverage plant HVAC systems
• Define system sanitary requirements for food production spaces
• Determine equipment technology and strategies for moisture control and energy reduction
• Produce food process area heat load calculations for production, downtime, and cleanup modes
• Create psychrometric calculations and charts for food process area conditions
• Develop instrument points list and sequence of operation
• Developing project documentation including drawings, air flow diagrams, equipment schedules, details, specifications, scope of work, etc.;
• Coordinating technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
• Frequent (30-40%) travel will be required.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
• At least four years of relevant industrial HVAC engineering experience

The Ideal Candidate Will Have Any/all Of The Following

• On-site experience integrating equipment into existing systems
• Specification of sanitary air handling equipment
• Experience developing Air Flow Diagrams for food and/or industrial projects
• Proficiency in MS Office software
• Experience mentoring less experienced staff
• Food plant experience
• PE
• Experience running load calculations
