Job summary

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking an Industrial HVAC Engineer for its Food & Beverage Group in Denver. The role involves surveying plant HVAC systems, defining sanitary requirements, and selecting equipment strategies to improve moisture control and energy efficiency.

The candidate should have a mechanical engineering degree (or higher) and at least four years of industrial HVAC experience; on-site integration and PE license are desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
• At least four years of relevant industrial HVAC engineering experience.
• PE license (preferred) and on-site integration experience.
• Experience developing Air Flow Diagrams and load calculations.

Responsibilities

• Conducting job-site surveys of food and beverage plant HVAC systems.
• Define system sanitary requirements for food production spaces.
• Determine equipment technology and strategies for moisture control and energy reduction.
• Produce food process area heat load calculations for production, downtime, and cleanup modes.
• Create psychrometric calculations and charts for food process area conditions.
• Develop instrument points list and sequence of operation.
• Developing project documentation including drawings, air flow diagrams, equipment schedules, details, specifications, scope of work, etc.;
• Coordinating technical specifications, delivery requirements, and quotation parameters with outside equipment suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
• Frequent (30-40%) travel will be required.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting job-site surveys of food and beverage plant HVAC systems
• Define system sanitary requirements for food production spaces
• Determine equipment technology and strategies for moisture control and energy reduction
• Produce food process area heat load calculations for production, downtime, and cleanup modes
• Create psychrometric calculations and charts for food process area conditions
• Develop instrument points list and sequence of operation
• Developing project documentation including drawings, air flow diagrams, equipment schedules, details, specifications, scope of work, etc.;

The successful candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
• At least four years of relevant industrial HVAC engineering experience

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

• On-site experience integrating equipment into existing systems
• Specification of sanitary air handling equipment
• Experience developing Air Flow Diagrams for food and/or industrial projects
• Proficiency in MS Office software
• Experience mentoring less experienced staff
• PE
• Experience running load calculations
• Comfortable with leading project specific client contact
