Job summary

Austin Industrial is hiring a Craft Helper to assist Journeyman in the assembly, installation, testing and maintenance of equipment and fixtures at industrial sites. You will use hand tools and power tools, and you will support diagnosing malfunctions to locate the cause of issues.

No formal education is required; a Valid Driver's License is required, and 1–2 years of helper experience is preferred. You must be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Education: no minimum education requirements.
• Certifications/Licenses: Valid Driver's License.
• Experience: 1-2 years of Helper level experience.

Responsibilities

• Gathers tools and supplies to be used at the work site according to the instructions.
• Measures, cuts and bends wire and conduit, using a ruler and hand tools.
• Drills holes for wiring, using power drill and pulls or pushes wiring through opening.
• Trace out short circuits in wiring, using knowledge of wiring and test meter.
• Assists in lifting, positioning or fastening objects.
• Performs minor repairs.
• May disassemble defective equipment, replace worn or defective parts and reassemble equipment.
