Job summary

HPC-Industrial, a Clean Harbors company, is seeking a Health and Safety Supervisor to oversee safety across client sites in East Chicago, IN. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with safety policies, regulations, and client requirements, while promoting a strong safety culture and handling emergency response and site remediation.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of industrial safety experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with TWIC, FIRST AID, and fall protection standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of progressively responsible and related experience in an industrial setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of First Aid, Confined Space and Fall Protection, and DISA standards preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must have a Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
• Experience in the Environmental field a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health and safety inspections, audits and interventions, investigate, oversee, and observe safety conditions and manage safety permits and required paperwork.
• Manage employee safety training programs and coordination.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents and manage injury and accident follow-up and reporting.
• Coach, manage and supervise teams to further enhance their safety responsibility and performance.
• Establish relationships with client safety department.
• Inspects assigned work areas and equipment to identify compliance issues.
• Documents safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/practices; Recommends corrective actions.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Provide leadership and guidance on Clean Harbors specific processes and expectations.
